Welcome to USS Colorado (SSN-788) Commissioning Committee web site. USS Colorado (SSN-788) is the 15th Virginia Class submarine. She was delivered to the Navy on September 21, 2017. Having completed shakedown operations, she was commissioned on March 17, 2018 at Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, CT. The Committee's purposes are to promote awareness within the state, provide support for the crew, and to help organize and raise money for the events surrounding commissioning.

Committee Members Visit Submarine Manufacturing Company Cogitic in Colorado Springs

Committee members, John (JJ) Mackin, Dick Cooper and John O’Donnell visited Cogitic Corporation in Colorado Springs. There they met with company owners, brothers Jared and Jonathan Veteto to discuss partnership and sponsorship for USS Colorado. The company is a small business specializing in precision manufacturing for a variety of clients. They manufacture a number of Subsafe/Level 1 and Nuclear parts for submarines including Virginia Class. Some of the parts the Committee saw were specialized ball valves, shaft seals and Virginia Class Hatch Locking Rings. The owners were very enthusiastic about supporting the USS Colorado project and we look forward to working with them in the future. The pictures show Virginia Class Hatch Locking Rings in production.
